Today is Tuesday 6/20/2017.
We planned our trip to land in La Vegas during the week day and not a
weekend to keep the hotel costs down; besides we are only here for two
nights. This morning after breakfast we
decided to go to Excalibur to get tickets for tonight's Australian Bee Gees show and
after buying a 24-hour bus ticket, head to Excalibur.
After getting our dinner and show tickets, for tonight by the way, we spent a little
time going between Excalibur, The Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. Yes we did some gambling and I won’t say how
much we bet, but we came out ahead, you know the saying “What happens in Vegas,
stays in Vegas” – except my money
this time.
While in Mandalay Bay, I get a picture of Carmen; next to
where a photographer was taking wedding pictures, how great is that!
Taking the bus back to Treasure Island, we have to cross Las
Vegas Boulevard at the Mirage and since it is close to the time when the
Volcano should erupt, we stick around and watch. By the way there is a lot of fire and we could feel the heat.
Back at Treasure Island we can see one of the pirate ships
in the water out front. The pirate frog
above the ship is from the Senor Frogs restaurant at Treasure Island.
On the other side of the walkway is another ship, this one
is all lit up.
Inside Treasure Island, we come across this unique motorcycle,
built to resemble a women riding.
From the side you can see the gas tank represents the body
and the legs are the exhaust pipes, if you look closely at the boots, they are the end
of the exhaust pipe. A pretty neat bike.
After dinner we headed to the Australian Bee Gees show. They look very similar to the original Bee
Gees and sound almost the same.
The group played many of the popular songs created by the
Bee Gees, from the early years to the disco and Saturday Night Live era. We were pleased with the show and music and should
anyone was to ask if they should go, we’d say yes.
Leaving Excalibur we crossed the street on the pedestrian walkway to catch the bus and we get this view of New York, New York – what a wonderful town. I think the roller coaster was even running at the time I took the picture.
While waiting for the bus we also have a good glimpse of
Excalibur from across the street.
Getting back to our bus stop, we have to cross the street via a pedestrian
overpass to Treasure Island and we can see the Venetian and the Mirage and even
Paris way in the back.
Tomorrow we leave Las Vegas and head to California to visit
family and begin our drive back to Florida.
